OAK
PARK PUBLIC LIBRARY,
Oak Park, Illinois Planning and design for
the landscape and public plaza for the new main library located on Lake
Street and Grove Avenue. The new plaza, created out of the vacated Grove
Avenue, serves as the main entrance to the library, as the pedestrian-oriented
transition between the adjacent Scoville Park and the new facility, and
will also serve special events for the park. A green roof on the main facility
enhances the environmental qualities of the building and all existing large
trees on the project site are being saved and protected during construction.
Services included design, construction documents through construction observation.
Construction completed fall 2003. With Nagle Hartray Danker Kagan McKay
for the Library District of Oak Park. |
