WRIGLEY CORPORATION GLOBAL INNOVATION CENTER PARK,
Chicago, Illinois

Development of park between Chicago River North Avenue Turning Basin and active railroad track that serves as a pedestrian passage to and from public transit and Wrigley’s new Goose Island facility. Challenges included rehabilitating a steep Army Corp of Engineer stone embankment at the river edge which was cleared of brush and invasive species, covered with soil and seeded with a no-mow grass mix. Planting pockets for new native plantings were created on the steep slopes. A winding pathway, new lighting, benches and river overlooks at two levels added to the user amenities. For the Wrigley Corporation.
